Peru Mission Journal

With daily updates from our January, 2025 mission trip to Peru!

The mission team spent a heartfelt morning with the girls at a local orphanage, bringing joy and hope through just spending time with them. They purchased new beds to provide the kids with a more comfortable place to sleep and joined them in cleaning and organizing their living spaces, fostering a sense of and self-worth. They showed the love of Jesus and prayed with them before saying goodbye.

After a rewarding day, the team traveled back to Lima, where they spent their final evening at Casa De Luz. Surrounded by the children’s laughter, they bought everyone ice cream and said "adios" to these special kids. It was hard to leave but the many heartfelt moments left an indelible mark on everyone’s hearts. It was a beautiful culmination of their mission, rooted in the love of Jesus.

The mission team poured their hearts into blessing the children at the orphanage with a day they would always remember. They began by transforming the space with a fresh coat of paint on the walls, bringing color and brightness to the place the children call home. As the paint dried, the team filled the air with music, lifting spirits and inspiring smiles all around. They organized fun and engaging games, creating moments of laughter and connection. To top it all off, the team served a rare and special treat—a delicious chicken dinner that filled the children with joy and gratitude. It was a day of love, hope, and renewal, leaving lasting memories for everyone involved.

Our mission team traveled to Huacho with a heart full of compassion and a purpose to make a difference in the lives of children at a local orphanage. During their time there, they rolled up their sleeves and worked together to brighten the space by painting the walls, creating a more cheerful and welcoming environment. Beyond the physical work, the team devoted their day to spending meaningful time with the kids, playing games, sharing stories, and building relationships. Through their actions and presence, they showed the children love and care, reminding them that they are valued and not forgotten. The team’s visit left a lasting impact, not only on the orphanage but also on their own hearts as they experienced the joy of giving and connecting.

This week at Casa De Luz has been a powerful testament to God’s work in our lives. We celebrated the incredible milestone of 12 baptisms, a beautiful reminder of lives transformed by His grace. After a week of hard work and service, we were blessed with the opportunity to come together for a day of fun and fellowship at the water park—a time to relax, laugh, and be refreshed. Most importantly, we gathered to hear the Word of God, fueling our spirits and strengthening our faith for the journey ahead.

Saturday was an eventful day. Started at Casa De Luz with team members giving devotionals. Afterwards, there were 4 groups of young children we had for VBS. Finishing up some construction projects filled the afternoon. Back to the classroom with D-Life and I-Pad training. Grady preached for the evening service and team members also gave devotionals. A day full of worship and praise!
